Derawan Islands
Derawan Islands is part of the Tentative list of Indonesia in order to qualify for inclusion in the World Heritage List.
The Derawan Islands comprise a biologically rich area where the broad river delta of the Berau mixes with the Sulawesi Sea. The island group consists of 31 islands. It is Indonesia’s largest nesting site of the endangered green sea turtles and hawksbill turtles.
